While many college students may spend time guzzling beer and making the party scene, you can bet that one Chicago student was passing his hours as an undergrad pursuing higher goals.
Joseph Shun Mendoza Ravago received two degrees from Indiana University – accounting and finance. He also managed to get two minors: Spanish and economics. Then, at Loyola University Chicago School of Law, he received his Juris Doctor in 1997 and was admitted to the Illinois State Bar the next year. To top it off, he managed to pass his CPA, which he said is a much more difficult exam, in 1995 while in law school.
In 1997, he started working for Arthur Andersen, LLP focusing on international tax and mergers and acquisitions. Ravago took the job of Director of Business Development and Chief Financial Officer for Voice & Data Group, Inc., a telecom start-up, in 2000. He left that same year and started Ravago & Associates, LLC. Since that time, Ravago has been representing clients in the areas of Corporate, Taxation, Bankruptcy, Immigration and Real Estate.
